By 2050, the United States will be the #1 Spanish speaking country in the world.
The Cervantes Institute has multiplied its number of registrations by a factor of 13 from 1993 to 2014.
Today there are many people in the world studying Spanish. José Ramán Parrando (Instituto Cervantes) states: “Spanish is the second foreign language most in demand in Europe and has a total of 16 million students throughout the world” and he also said: “Spanish language is replacing French as the second most spoken foreign language in Europe after English”.7
Also, Language Magazine states: “Nearly 70% of applications to study Spanish are currently rejected because there are not enough Spanish teachers there to teach them. China sends students to 34 Latin American and 22 Spanish universities. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, the Hispanic culture is trending, says the report, and almost every university there offers Spanish-language courses”.8
